Based within the Foothills of Colorado, Richmond Hill is a high altitude four-piece bluegrass band dedicated to the vintage sounds of traditional American music with a focus on expanding the context of a genre. Formed after meeting at a local Jam, Richard Walley (guitar/vocals), Andy McDermid (banjo), Matt O’Neil (fiddle/vocals), and Dave Borys (upright bass) turned a shared passion for acoustic music into a musical partnership.

The band’s sound is steeped in traditional bluegrass with inspirations of heroes like Jimmy Martin, Stanley Brothers and the furious drive of Flatt n Scruggs alongside the flatpicking elegance of Doc Watson, Norman Blake & Billy Strings. While rooted in the classic repertoire of fiddle and banjo tunes, Richmond Hill is increasingly carving out their own space with original songwriting that stays true to tradition and expanding the genre of American traditional music known as Bluegrass.

Whether it is playing at the local pub, backyard party/wedding or festival we find our chemistry is at its most when performing live.
